Tonight, my dear friend Pastor Shahade shared a lovely message from two Old Testament verses that I’ve never heard preached on before. This was his passage:
"Afterward Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and said, "This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘Let my people go, so that they may hold a festival to me in the wilderness.’ " Pharaoh said, "Who is the Lord, that I should obey him and let Israel go? I do not know the Lord and I will not let Israel go."Ex. 5:1-2 NIV Pharoah forgot Who The God of Joseph was — The God Who had saved Egypt and the surrounding countries from starvation!
Here is some of the inspiring commentary he shared:
Whoever forgets "Who The Lord is" invites pain and suffering into their own lives and into the lives of those they have authority over. Never be like Pharoah and ask "Who is The Lord?" Do not refuse to remember Who God is.
The Lord remembers us and forgets our sins. Let us not remember our sins and forget The Lord. We as God’s people are called to help others remember "Who The Lord is." It is our duty as the Christian community not to let people forget "Who The Lord is!"
Whoever remembers "Who The Lord is," and obeys Him finds forgiveness and is set free. Pharoah’s people suffered severely because in pride he refused to remember and obey the Lord.
Presence Matters Most! No Invisible People!
UNITY!
