Galilee Boats

In each of my fourteen Discipleship Journeys to The Holy Land, I have always been extremely inspired by the Sea of Galilee fishing boats. Luke 5:1-11 is always a favorite passage for me to preach.

Here's a photo of Galilee Boats at rest in the fishermen's harbor at En Gev on the east side of the sea.

I am glad to be the son of a fisherman and a fisherman for The Son.

Caesarea Philippi

If you'd like a real look at one of our Hearts Aflame Discipleship Journey stops in The Holy Land, Pastor Drew David filmed and edited this Vimeo video from our most recent trip together. It was our first stop at Caesarea Philippi, to the north east corner of Israel, in the shadow of Mount Hermon. "Who Do You Say That I Am?"

Holy Afterglow

We returned home today after our 14th Hearts Aflame Discipleship Journey to The Holy Land. In our one-week tour, we walked 36 miles and climbed 75 flights of stairs. Glorious weariness.

We are considering another journey to Israel in October of 2018. Stay tuned to www.ProjectGalilee.org for new trip details in a few months.

Glad to be in the afterglow of our blessed God-ordered pilgrimage. We crossed the pond arriving in New York after an 11 1/2 hour night flight and then made our last leg to Dulles, D.C. And finally home on the church bus.

Israel Finale

Wednesday was our Israel finale for our 14th Hearts Aflame Discipleship Journey.

We are at the airport in Tel Aviv readying for our flight to JFK in NYC and images of the day are still strong in my mind. Below I will share our inspiration overload with you. Blessed!

Holy Land

Tuesday in the Holy Land proved to be a double-blessing day as we remembered Jesus in Jerusalem and Bethlehem.

I'll let the pictures speak for themselves as we were on The Mount of Olives, in Gethsemane, passed through the Kidron Valley, went to The Shepherd's Fold, the Church of the Nativity, Skull Hill, The Garden Tomb, and ended our day at The Western/Wailing Wall. Holy Land.

To Jerusalem

Our Monday proved to be yet an additional day of more blessing as our Discipleship Journey led us through Jericho to The Cliffs of Engedi, Qumran -- the location of the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls -- then into The Dead Sea to float, and sojourning on to the village of Bethany and ultimately to Jerusalem. Shalom. 🕊

To Jericho

Sunday was an anointed Lord's Day for our Hearts Aflame Discipleship Journey #14. We left the Sea of Galilee in the early morning for Cana. Once there seven couples renewed their marriage vows. So awesome.

Our next stop was for worship with our Nazarene brothers and sisters in Nazareth. Joy unspeakable and full of glory!!! I preached on "God's Love Being the Proof of the Holy Spirit in Our Lives!"

As we left our Lord's hometown, we visited Mount Carmel where 1 Kings 18 happened. Our God wins!

Leaving Elijah's mountain, we crossed the Jezreel Valley and set our sights to go to Jerusalem (Luke 9:51) but first to Jericho for the night. We remembered our Lord's Temptation and saw the ruins of Old Jericho that came tumbling down under Joshua's leadership.

Tonight, we sleep in our desert winderness oasis, and feel so blessed beyond measure. Peace.

Holy Water

Our Saturday in the Holy Land is best described in two words: "Holy Water!" Yes, our itinerary included:

1. A boat ride on the morning mirror-like Sea of Galilee.
2. A visit to the village ruins of Bethsaida -- The House of the Fisherman.
3. A fish dinner with the fine people of En Gev Restaurant where Saint Peter's Fish is served with the head in tact.
4. A lesson on the cliffs of Gadara where Jesus sent the demon-possessed pigs into the Sea.
5. A service of worship and baptism in the Jordan River.

Holy Water, indeed!
