I met Michael Lee Sparks at age 5 when we were roomed together as patients in the Sea Level, North Carolina Hospital. I had bronchitis and he had pneumonia.
Shortly after our young friendship began, my granddaddy gave me a pet duck. I named it Mike. Mike Sparks and I were friends through 12 years of school.
Mike now lives in Cape May, New Jersey and today I baptized two precious souls — a precious lady name Kathy and the second baptismal candidate was Mike.
I can’t explain how it felt to baptize my first childhood friend, nevertheless, these images below taken by @kimwillis418 show you what it looked like.
After preaching a new message from John 21 titled “Identity”, the baptism happened at Seashore Community Church of the Nazarene.
The first words out of Mike’s mouth were “I believe!”
