In the Luke 15 Story of the Loving Father and the two “lost” sons that He loved dearly, we see Love with no strings attached. Though both sons were lost from the Father’s fellowship — one in the far country and one on the back porch — He lovingly went out to engage both.
The rebellious son who returned home found His Father’s Love uncompromised as we was met on the outskirts of his hometown with a loving embrace. The religious son who refused to come into the banquet celebration upon the rebellious son’s return saw the Loving Father came out in the midst of his pout to lovingly invite him to reconsider relationship restoration and to join in the family reunion party.
Truly, there are no strings attached to God’s Love, however, it is not specifically God’s Love that saves our souls, it is restored fellowship with the Father. Yes, Father God’s forgiveness is what is essential.
Indeed, God loves people more than anything. It’s true. All people. But He will not force any of us into His fellowship, that is, His forgiveness. He only lovingly invites us to come home from our lostness and to come in from our darkness. If we refuse His loving invitation, are we not the ones who actually attach strings to love?
Presence Matters Most!
That is... Presence. Unity. Souls. Love.
