Day 6: Holy Land Highlights 2018

Our final day of journeying together in Israel was so powerful. We began at Mount Calvary remembering God’s Love written down in John 3:16-17.

Next we went to the Upper Room and John 13 came alive recalling how Jesus showed the full extent of His  Love — washing the feet of His disciples and instituting Holy Communion.

After the Upper Room, we went to The Western Wall. As always, the desperation there moved is deeply. We all placed written prayers in the Wall as we joined in the Jews wailing.

We ended our official pilgrimage in The Christian Quarter visiting the market and especially spending time at one of the Top Ten places in Jerusalem (voted by the people) not to miss — Elias Photo. Old sepia-toned prints of The Holy Land are for sale here at a very fair price.

At the close of the evening as our group met for the last supper, Steve and I, were invited to eat I. The home of our 91-year-old Arab friend, Mr. Raji. His family came, too, along with our guide, Nabil, and our bus driver, Taleb. After a wonderful meal, I was able to pray a Jesus-blessing on everyone present. Our hearts were overflowing, mostly with humility and gratitude.

Shalom, y’all.
