Four Winds Forecast

Greetings Dearly Beloved Philadelphia District Pastors and Partners:

(I humbly ask each pastor and leader to carefully, prayerfully and thoroughly read this email for possible inspiration, useable information and increased communication. i am Grateful, very. pastor kerry)

FAILURE OR SUCCESS?

A Commentary by Pastor Kerry

As a local pastor, I always prayed that above all else, those in the local congregation where I served would confidently know three things about me:

1. ...that I undeniably loved the Lord and my family;

2. ...that I unceasingly loved them;

3. ...that I undoubtably loved lost souls.

Now that I am a district servant, I am praying above all else these same three prayers -- yes, that every Nazarene across Eastern Pennsylvania and Southern New Jersey will really know that I solidly love the Lord (and my family); that I sincerely love the people I serve called Nazarenes (yes, that includes you, all of you); and that I surely love lost souls (everyone of them).

The Apostle Paul strung three strong words together in 1 Corinthians 13, three words that I hope I will never be able to separate myself from. The three strong words are: Love never fails!

In other words, apart from Real Love, God’s Love, anything and everything else we might accomplish in our lifetimes will be little more than a failure. Nevertheless, with God’s Love as our everything, yes, with God’s Love overflowing as the overriding essence of our lives, true success is certain to happen. Guaranteed, in fact!

Here are two FOUR WINDS Updates:

#1: FOUR WINDS / UPDATE -- "Lordship Living" 2nd Workshop will happen this Tuesday, September 10 from 10 a.m. til 12:15 p.m. at Royersford, PA. Yes, if you want partnership in raising faith and funds in your local church, join me for "The Actual (Season/Campaign) of Lordship/Stewardship." We had 30 join us for Session #1 and each session is unique/stands alone. So hope you will come if you are able to. We’re better together!

#2. FOUR WINDS / UPDATE -- Our Familiar Grounds Gathering -- Cup, Bread and Friendship happens again on Wednesday, Sept. 25, 10 a.m. til Noon at our Media PA Church of the Nazarene. No intimidation just an invitation. I truly believe whenever we come together around the Lord’s Table wonderful things happen.

** NOTE: ONCE AGAIN STARTING TIME ADJUSTMENTS below about our upcoming PCDC Gatherings...

A. IMPORTANT: All New Sessions of PCDC will continue to begin at 9 a.m. not change to 9:30 a.m. like I wrongly advertised in the past two correspondences. I had considered beginning a half-hour later to help people with traffic but locals have kindly informed me that 9 a.m. is still probably best even though some do arrive late. (I’ve arrived late twice.) I’m trying to understand the traffic around Philadelphia, but maybe not really doing all that well just yet. So, it’s 9 a.m.

B. Lunch can be ordered after PCDC off the menu as you choose at The Village Cafe. No lunch buffets will be planned going forward, but the cafe is glad to serve us. The chef salad and the soup and the sandwiches are in one word: "Marvelous!"

C. Beginning with our January 2020 PCDC Gathering, based on input we have received, we are still moving from Mondays to Thursdays. So, again, we shift from Mondays to Thursdays beginning on Thursday, January 9, 2020.

D. Breakfast will gracefully be provided by John Sharpless through 2019. Beginning January 2020 breakfast can be purchased in The Village Cafe before each session begins 8:30 a.m. - 9 a.m.

E. Calendar for next PCDC Series:

1. Monday, Oct. 7, 2019, 9 a.m.

2. Monday, Nov. 4, 2019, 9 a.m.

3. Monday, Dec. 2, 2019, 9 a.m.

4. Thursday, Jan. 9, 2020, 9 a.m.

5. Thursday, Feb. 6, 2020, 9 a.m.

6. Thursday, Mar. 5, 2020, 9 a.m.

7. Thursday, Apr. 2, 2020, 9 a.m.

(*NO PCDC in MAY, District Assembly)

8. Thursday, June 4, 2020, 9 a.m.

Finally, Philadelphia District Nazarenes, Kim and I are grateful to partner alongside each one of you and in the Name of our King, Jesus the Nazarene.

I leave you with the words my mother spoke when I called her after Hurricane Dorian recently passed over our family home-place on the coastline of North Carolina: "My faith still holds!"

Deo Volente -- whatever God wants.
