"Suffering" According to Capt. Billy

This morning I eavesdropped as my Dad talked with his cousin on the phone. Here was his commentary when his cousin questioned: "Why do things like this happen -- cancer, suffering, etc?"

"There's nothing I did to bring my suffering on. There's nothing my wife, Melba, did, either. Suffering comes to everyone -- to the young and to the old. If we handle suffering the right way (with humility) God will get glory from Our suffering. There's no sense in fretting over suffering, just stand on the Scriptures the Lord gives you each day."

Lord, have Your way with Your clay, today. Amen.
