Dearest Loving Lord, just as a skilled surgeon cannot bring us healing until we are put to sleep so the problem can be addressed, You also, our Great Physician, come to us as we sleep to administer holy healing -- heart, mind, soul, and strength. So, especially as we receive from You the gift of sleep, search us during our seasons of spiritual slumber, our God, and make us whole. Restore and renew us according to Your wonderful will. In Jesus' name. Amen.
I know it's February, but as I think about sleep being a blessed, spiritual gift that God gives to His beloved ones, I can hear one Christmas Carol echoing from the heart strings of my being:

Sleep is a wonderful retreat; it is even more wonderful when ordained by our Creator. This weekend will be a sleepless retreat - Middle School Retreat. I will be holding onto this promise and share it with the other leaders.
