Unity and Community Make Mission Possible

What joy to hear my Jesus-like friend, general superintendent of the Church of the Nazarene, Dr. David Busic, preach to district leaders on the importance of oneness from God’s perspective.

One statement he made was: "Without unity there is no community and without community there is no mission."

To that I say: Unity and community make mission possible.

Dr. Busic also shared this passage:

Ephesians 4:5-6 MSG -- "You were all called to travel on the same road and in the same direction, so stay together, both outwardly and inwardly. You have one Master, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who rules over all, works through all, and is present in all. Everything you are and think and do is permeated with Oneness."

My mind is beautifully flooded now with the words of an old Phil Driscoll song. It’s one of my all-time favorites, in fact, titled "Make Us One":
