A new pastor friend of mine, Will from Illinois, recently called me about a prayer lecture and laboratory that I hosted in Kansas City. He is now planning "a Gethsemane Gathering of Prayer" that I taught on and led there, for a Palm Sunday meeting at his local church and was looking for a suitable outline.
I shared this sacred sequence: The Days of Passion Week, because it’s a great outline to pray.
I pray it helps Pastor Will and his local church and I hope it also helps you in some simple yet profound way during this season when we remember our Lord’s life, death and Resurrection.
1. Day of Compassion/Anointing -- John 11:55-12:11 / Saturday before Palm Sunday
2. Day of Popularity/Praise -- John 12:12-19 / Palm Sunday
3. Day of Authority/Prayer -- Mark 11:15-18 / Monday
4. Day of Conflict/Relationships -- Mark 11:27-33 / Tuesday
5. Day of Silence/Reflection -- Psalm 39 & Psalm 46:10a / Wednesday
6. Day of Betrayal/Violence -- Matthew 26:14-75, John 18:1-11, Psalm 88 / Thursday
7. Day of Agony/Suffering/Death -- John 19:1-37 / Friday
8. Day of Mourning/Darkness -- John 19:31-42 / Saturday
9. Day of Resurrection/Life. (Best saved for Easter Sunday, of course.) / Sunday
