The Interior Life of a Leader / Project Galilee Gathering

The interior life of a leader needs some on-purpose time for evaluation and redirection in deep spiritual community. So, about eight years ago I invited everyone who would listen, to meet me at the coast of North Carolina to talk about beginning a gathering of leaders who would come together every autumn to seek God’s heart together and to gain inspiration, restoration, and friendship. Seven people gathered that year and the next year we came together again as the Project Galilee Crew to solidify the beginnings of such an ongoing season together. We were humbled that others decided to join us. We still are.

Now, we are here again for our 7th official Project Galilee event. We are meeting in the same location, Bridgeway Church of the Nazarene in beautiful Beaufort, North Carolina, yes, in the county of my birth, Carteret, just a 20-minute car ride from my Harkers Island home.

This year our focus from God’s Word will be Galatians 5:22-23, The Fruit of the Spirit. We will begin with an hour of prayer, then there will be a teaching on each spiritual slice. At our conclusion on Saturday morning we will share in a panel to discus "Holiness Today."

So, yes, there will be eleven one-hour sessions of prayer, worship, teaching and dialogue with seasons for solitude also purposely built in. We will, as always, fellowship with meals and laughter and tears together throughout the journey.

Approximately 25 have officially signed up to join us this year. The evening sessions will be larger groups as all interested are invited whether they consider themselves leaders or not.

I want to give thanks to Dr. Dennis Kinlaw for giving me the inspiration to begin these sacred sessions. I attended two of his similar gatherings in Wilmore, Kentucky, before realizing God was inviting me to begin like times of renewal on the east coast.

Our webpage can be found at www.ProjectGalilee.org if you want to follow our schedule. One change in the speaker list for 2019, Jared Link is a new dad so he was unable to be with us, so Matthew Waggoner from Montoursville, PA. will be our speaker on gentleness.

Next year the venue is going to shift locations. We still plan to be on the east coast, but Cape May, New Jersey, is the designated site for 2020. October 14-17 is the tentative schedule.

Thanks for your prayers as we come together. If you can still make it to Beaufort, NC, the invitation remains open. There is no registration cost to come. If you cannot come, please do be with us in The Spirit.

In time, the audio teachings should be uploaded. Some of last year’s are already there. (www.ProjectGalilee.org)
