We Pray Un-Rushed? He Redeems! Rewards!

If we will take time each day to withdraw from the distractions of our too busy lives and embrace an un-rushed season of honest communion with God, we will see the Wonder-working God we pray to redeem our lives. He will redeem at least these three areas:

(1) He will make what is seemingly obsolete or useless... usable.
(2) He will make what is surely irritable or restless... restful.
(3) He will make what is sadly barren or fruitless... fruitful.

Yes, my friends, Holy God has in store for those of us who will meet him un-rushed for regular communion in the secret chamber of prayer, a reward, yes indeed, a recompense for praying.

(5) When you pray, don’t be like the hypocrites who love to pray publicly on street corners and in the synagogues where everyone can see them. I tell you the truth, that is all the reward they will ever get. (6) But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.
-- Matthew 6:5-6(NLT)

We can know Him by having an intimate relationship with Him. That does not come from knowing about Him, but rather getting to personally know Him by what He says (in His Holy Word, the Bible), recognizing the things He does in our lives, and by way of His Holy Spirit who comes to guide and comfort us

Amen to the good thoughts, Keith.Prayer surely leads us to know God. I want to know Him, not just about Him for sure.

So true Kerry, time with our Lord puts life in perspective. To be honest I am having a bit of a battle at this point. I want more than His view, I want His rest. Thanks for the good word. jfs

There remains yet a rest... I pray you will know His rest in the deepest recesses of your saved and sanctified soul today and day-by-day.
