Rumor has it that this touching simple song titled "MOTHER" was written in 1915. In the church I was raised in during the 1960s and 1970s, Mrs. Reva Pearl played piano and sang these lyrics every Mother's Day in honor of her mother, Mrs. Sue. Enjoy!
M ... Is for the Many things she gave me,
O ... Means only that she's growing Old.
T ... Is for the Tears she shed to save me,
H ... Is for her Heart of purest gold.
E ... Is for her Eyes with love light shining,
R ... Means Right and Right she'll always be.
Put them all together, They spell MOTHER.
A word that means the world to me.
