Singing for Rain

I'm not a music technological person at all, but I do own a simple MP3 player that holds about 200 songs that really do make up the soundtrack of my life.

Yesterday, I flipped one of the few switches on my simple little music-playing gadget, the switch that repeats one song over and over and over again until you're done listening to it. I'm not sure how many times I listened to the Mercy Me song titled Bring the Rain. I didn't count, however, I can say it's already a day later and I still have the repeat switch on for the same singing for rain song.

Here are the words. Let them saturate your soul and as you listen I invite you to ask the question: Is this really my testimony?

I can count a million times
People asking me how I
Can praise You with all that I've gone through
The question just amazes me
Can circumstances possibly
Change who I forever am in You
Maybe since my life was changed
Long before these rainy days
It's never really ever crossed my mind
To turn my back on you, oh Lord
My only shelter from the storm
But instead I draw closer through these times
So I pray

Bring me joy, bring me peace
Bring the chance to be free
Bring me anything that brings You glory
And I know there'll be days
When this life brings me pain
But if that's what it takes to praise You
Jesus, bring the rain
I am Yours regardless of
The dark clouds that may loom above
Because You are much greater than my pain
You who made a way for me
By suffering Your destiny
So tell me what's a little rain
So I pray

Holy, holy, holy
Is the Lord God Almighty

Philippians 3:10-11 (NIV) -- (10) I want to know Christ and the power of His Resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in His sufferings, becoming like Him in his death, (11) and so, somehow, to attain to the Resurrection from the dead.

IF MY PEOPLE... WILL? I WILL! God's Promise in 2 Chron. 7:14.
Grateful

Knowing Christ is it. Everything else is rubbish in comparison. (see verse 8) In fact Phillipians is one of my favorite books in the Bible. Chapter 3:7-11 is one of my favorite sections.

Thanks for the reminder and the encouragement.
