And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap... if... we do not lose heart. -- Galatians 6:9 (NKJV)

Pastor Kerry,
I would be interested in your thoughts on what the scripture means by "lose heart." Does it just mean to get discouraged or is it something else?
Mark
To me, one right answer for "lose heart" would be to "give in to sin" rather than to "stay focused on Him." If it means to "get discouraged" I have "lost heart" over and over again. I think to "lose heart" is to live by sight rather than by faith. What say ye?
Also, I like how The Living Bible says it: "And let us not get tired of doing what is right, for after a while we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t get discouraged and give up." We will get discouraged, but let us not in those times of discouragement "give in to sin." Amen.
Were in a battle and discouragement is one of the instruments of the enemy so we must fight through to victory knowing that Jesus was already victoriuos.
I suppose discouragement can happen, but we are not to give in and give up? It's the "keep on keepin' on" kind of thing? Thanks for the insight.
Mark
Seven words from Colossians 1:27 provide me personally with the "ability" to keep on keeping on -- "Christ in you, the hope of glory."
