Souls Ablaze for God

Spirit-filled souls are ablaze for God.
They love with a love that glows.
They serve with a faith that kindles.
They serve with a devotion that consumes.
They hate sin with fierceness that burns.
They rejoice with a joy that radiates.
Love is perfected in the fire of God.
-- Rev. Samuel Chadwick

Back and forth they talked. "Didn't we feel on fire as He (The Resurrected Jesus) conversed with us on the road, as He opened up the Scriptures for us?" -- Luke 24:32 The Message

You Will Tell People About Me Everywhere

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be My witnesses, telling people about Me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. -- Words of Jesus in Acts 1:8 (NLT)

Lord, let the proof that Your power reigns in me (through The Holy Spirit) be as You have said: I will tell people about You everywhere. Lord, be in my mouth. Move my lips in the presence of others so that I will speak the truth in Love about You before souls perish. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Count it all joy. (James 1:2-4)

Evangelism 101: Go Tell It On the Mountain

One of my faithful Dawn Patrol Prayer Partners on Tuesday mornings is Mike Barko. Mike is also president of an evangelism ministry known as "Communities 4 Christ". Mike was recently interviewed for Chuck Colson's Breakpoint Program. Click the link below and take a listen to Mike's witness. Someone's soul might be eternally dependent on it.

Well done, Mike. You are indeed unashamed of Christ. You've surely found one right answer for sharing our Savior's Hope with the seemingly hopeless among us. Pray for us.

You have nothing to do but to save souls. -- John Wesley

Folk need Jesus! Please tell them! -- Mike Barko

LET'S GO TELL IT ON THE MOUNTAIN, OVER THE HILLS AND EVERYWHERE!

ALL JOY TO YOUR WORLD!

Wonderful, Merciful Savior

Tina, a voice from Heaven in our local church family, sings and recorded a song written and recorded by the contemporary group Selah. The words moved my heart so wonderfully recently that I listened to the song about five times in a row. May the lyrics inspire Your love for our Lord, today:

Wonderful, merciful Saviour, precious Redeemer and Friend.
Who would've thought that a Lamb could,
Rescue the souls of men.
Oh, You rescue the souls of men.

Counselor, Comforter, Keeper, Spirit we long to embrace.
You offer hope when our hearts have,
Hopelessly lost our way.
Oh, we've hopelessly lost the way.

CHORUS:
You are the One that we praise.
You are the One we adore.
You give the healing and grace,
Our hearts always hunger for.
Oh, our hearts always hunger for.

Almighty, infinite Father, faithfully loving Your own.
Here in our weakness You find us,
Falling before Your throne.
Oh, we're falling before Your throne.

IF MY PEOPLE... WILL? I WILL! God's Promise in 2 Chron. 7:14.

The Overseer of the Overcomers

Years ago, I was given an audio recording of Bishop S.M. Lockridge reciting his original proclamation titled "He's My King! You Can Trust Him!" It is probably the most awesome exaltations of Christ I have ever heard. It was in that exaltation that I first heard the Lord referred to as "The Overseer of the Overcomers!"

A few weeks ago when my mentor, James Spruill, was praying about whether he should lead his medical missions team to Haiti with all of the uncertainties following the island nation's devastating earthquake, the Lord comforted James' heart and confirmed that the trip should indeed happen with the words of Psalm 121:8: The LORD keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever.

James and the medical team made the lives of those they encountered in Haiti delightfully different just by showing up in the hour of Haiti's greatest need. They have now returned safely back to the States. Surely, our our Lord loves proving that We can trust Him, because without a doubt He is "The Overseer of the Overcomers!"

The words of our Lord in John 16:33 are surely sweet to the souls of His saints: I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.

IF MY PEOPLE... WILL? I WILL! God's Promise in 2 Chron. 7:14.
