Good News Witnesses

Good news becomes bad news when it is announced without peace and joy. Anyone who proclaims the forgiving and healing love of Jesus with a bitter heart is a false witness. Jesus is the Savior of the world. We are not. We are called to witness, always with our lives and sometimes with our words, to the great things God has done for us. But this witness must come from a heart that is willing to give without getting anything in return. The more we trust in God's unconditional love for us, the more able we will be to proclaim the love of Jesus without any inner or outer conditions.

Pentecost Gives Newness...

Some may ask, "What are the benefits of Pentecost?"

Well, here's just a short list of what I have come to realize that Pentecost gives:
(1) A newness of joy.
(2) A newness of love.
(3) A newness of mind.
(4) A newness of heart.
(5) A newness of strength.
(6) A newness of assurance.
(7) A newness of compassion.
(8) A newness of anointing to pray in the Holy Spirit.
(9) A newness of perspective from The Holy Word of God.
(10) A newness of intimacy in sweet communion with Holy God.

But now, by dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code. -- Romans 7:6 (NIV)

You Will Be My Witnesses

These words of promise concerning the coming of New Testament Pentecost were spoken by Jesus and recorded in Acts 1:8 (NIV) -- But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be My witnesses...

Praise God! New Testament Pentecost happened and is still happening. Why? That The Holy Spirit might enter and indwell believers. Why? That He could live the life of Christ through his saints -- yes, that the world might know God personally one-soul-at-a-time.

Lord, I don't just want to talk about You. I want to be Your Holy Spirit-filled witness. Amen.
