"I Know Where You Live..."

Today, i am comforted by the words of Jesus spoken to and through John the Revelator. Specifically, the first five words of Revelation 2:13:

"I know where you live..." (GWT)

i am moved beyond explanation or comprehension by that declaration. To imagine The Creator and The Authority of the Universe knows where i live is wondrously overwhelming to me.

I will think on this comforting Truth today: "The One called the Great 'I AM' knows and cares where i am!"

Shazam!

Indeed, He is The Faithful One.
Indeed, i am The Grateful one.

I Invite You to Pray With Me

With deep sincerity, I invite you to pray with me today:

Loving Lord, my Almighty Personal God:
For this new day, I am so totally thankful.
Though the world seems more confusing day-by-day,
You offer clarity to my mind and calm to my soul.
The ruler of this age has suffered defeat and will not prevail.
Surely, time on earth will soon run out...
And humanity will run head-long into eternity.
Intensify Your light in and through me, my Jesus;
Lest those around me, even my beloved ones are lost forever.
I want Your abiding presence to enlarge deep within my being,
Allowing Your glory to comfort me as it captures the hearts of others.
Please overcome all dread, despair, and discouragement inside me.
Replenish me with Your complete love, powerful grace, holy presence.
Let Your mercy renew my strength so I can serve you anew.
And when You return to earth, my Jesus,
Find full-blooming, up-to-date, faith in You... in my soul.
Amen and Amen.

...when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on earth?
-- Luke 18:8b (GWT)

Comforting Expressions of Christ Through Art

My Friend, Bill, sent me this Youtube link below. In the wake of the tragic elementary school shooting this past week in Connecticut, USA, where 20 children and 7 adults died, these artistic images of Christ offer a measure of comfort to my own soul. I pray it will provide the same for yours:

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these.”
-- Words of Jesus recorded in Matthew 19:14 (NIV)

Beyond Death

In my Bible reading and reflection this week, there has been one verse that has given comfort and peace to my heart in an incredible way. It never ceases to amaze me how the Word of God, even in small doses can settle my soul so completely.

Here's the verse:

This God is our God forever and ever. He will lead us beyond death.
-- Psalm 48:14 (GWT)

People Do Not Control Their Own Destiny

Lord, we know that people do not control their own destiny. It is not in their power to determine what will happen to them.
-- Jeremiah 10:23 (NET)

Lord, it is such a comfort to know that You have already been into this New Year and now You will lovingly lead us to the destiny that You have designed for those who wait for You and rest in Your Word. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Your Soul's Comfort is Only Found in Me

I brought you to Myself and carried you on eagle’s wings.
-- Exodus 19:4b (NLT)

After reading the soul-comforting message of the Lord in Exodus 19:4, I wrote these words, seemingly from Father God's heart straight to mine:

Why do you weep when the closest of kin
or the dearest of friend leaves you?
Do you ask why?
You don't know why their kinship
or friendship can never satisfy?

When kin or friend deserts you,
it's meant to help you see,
That the deepest comfort of your soul...
Is only found in Me.

If This Sea Could Speak

Sitting along the banks of The Sea of Galilee, one desires to have a conversation with the waves. Imagining all of the miracles that Jesus performed around this body of water is wondrously overwhemling. If there are three words that echo from this famous, fresh-water lake, those three words are the words the Master of the Sea spoke as his disciples awoke him from His sweet sleep in the midst of a storm: Peace. Be Still. Yes, if this sea could speak, those three comforting words would have to be its message to us.

Lord, as sure as the sun rises over The Sea of Galilee, storms are sure to come our way. Help our unbelief. Let us have ears-wide-open to hear Your delightful declaration: Peace. Be Still. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

May I Pray Philemon 3-7 For You Today?

I pray the very words written in Philemon 3-7 (NLT), for all the saints, yes, for all of those who are God-owned and others-focused. May I pray this prayer for you, today?

(3) May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace. (4) I always thank God when I pray for you, (YOUR NAME HERE) (5) because I keep hearing of your trust in the Lord Jesus and your love for all of God’s people. (6) You are generous because of your faith. And I am praying that you will really put your generosity to work, for in so doing you will come to an understanding of all the good things we can do for Christ. (7) I myself have gained much joy and comfort from your love, my brother (SISTER), because your kindness has so often refreshed the hearts of God’s people. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

IF MY PEOPLE... WILL? I WILL! God's Promise on 2 Chron. 7:14.

The Lord's Angel in Luke 22:43

Luke 22:43 (NLT) -- Then an angel from Heaven appeared and strengthened Him (Jesus).

I've been wondering lately if the same angel that appeared in Gethsemane to comfort and strengthen our Lord Jesus in His darkest hour, is still dispatched from Heaven to be with us in our darkest hours?

Psalm 91:11a (NKJV) -- For He shall give His angels charge over you...

Our 2010 is Waiting in His Wings

This morning it occurred to me that 2010, yes a new year, is waiting in the wings just before me. I am so glad that my Lord has already been into my future. What comfort and assurance that reality is to my soul. In actuality, our new year is waiting in His wings. Makes my heart sing triumphantly The Hallelujah Chorus!

Let's allow these words of Jesus recorded in Revelation 1:8 to be our strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow: I am the Alpha and the Omega—the beginning and the end, says the Lord God. I am the One Who is, Who always was, and Who is still to come, the Almighty One. (NLT)

ALL... JOY TO YOUR WORLD!
