A Commonly Practiced Form of Unbelief

Sometimes one thought is enough to fill a whole day. Such is this thought I am posting today:

Engaging in excessive planning in an attempt to control what will happen in the future is a commonly practiced form of unbelief.

Stress? Out!

One morning as I was asking the Lord to help me, yes, to heal any uneasiness within me, it seemed He replied, "Child, you must first invite Me to help Myself to your unbelief."

"Yes!" was my immediate and passionate response. I prayed:

Search me completely, Lord,
until it can be said that my life is not "stressed out",
but "STRESS? OUT!"

With An Incredible Love, God Embraced Us!

In a message on God's Love, my friend-in-the-Lord, Dr. Harold Graves, Jr., President of Nazarene Bible College in Colorado Springs, Colorado, wept as he read from Ephesians, chapter 2, in the Message Paraphrase of The Holy Bible:

It wasn't so long ago that you were mired in that old stagnant life of sin. You let the world, which doesn't know the first thing about living, tell you how to live. You filled your lungs with polluted unbelief, and then exhaled disobedience. We all did it, all of us doing what we felt like doing, when we felt like doing it, all of us in the same boat. It's a wonder God didn't lose his temper and do away with the whole lot of us. Instead, immense in mercy and with an incredible love, He embraced us.

A Saving Passion For Sanctified People

The Holy Spirit cannot conquer the world with unbelief, nor can He save the world with a worldly Church. He calls for a crusade, a campaign, and an adventure of saving passion. For this enterprise He wants a separated, sanctified and sacrificial people.

Lord, I want to be in this world but not of this world. Yes, by faith, please include me in the adventure of Your saving passion. Make me (by the indwelling presence of Your Holy Spirit) to be a separated, sanctified, and sacrificial saint for Your glory, that is, make me exclusively Yours. If This Sea Could Speak

Sitting along the banks of The Sea of Galilee, one desires to have a conversation with the waves. Imagining all of the miracles that Jesus performed around this body of water is wondrously overwhemling. If there are three words that echo from this famous, fresh-water lake, those three words are the words the Master of the Sea spoke as his disciples awoke him from His sweet sleep in the midst of a storm: Peace. Be Still. Yes, if this sea could speak, those three comforting words would have to be its message to us.

Lord, as sure as the sun rises over The Sea of Galilee, storms are sure to come our way. Help our unbelief. Let us have ears-wide-open to hear Your delightful declaration: Peace. Be Still. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
