Learn to Fly. Release the Reigns.

The words of this Crystal Lewis song titled "Learn to Fly" are pure poetry to the soul.

Sometimes I sit wondering
I wonder what the future brings
I wonder what tomorrow means
I've thoughts of fear, they frighten me
About days ahead that I can't see
I want to know with certainty
So I'm faced with a choice
A fork in the road
I can raise my voice in protest
Or surrender and let go

(Chorus)
And learn to fly
Learn to soar
Above the doubts around my door
Learn to see
Learn to try
Learn to trust
Let go and fly

Life isn't always fair it seems
At times I feel cheated out of my dreams
Where I am isn't where I planned to be
My plans are changed without my consent
To come this way wasn't my intent
The road I face isn't the one I meant to take
So I'm faced with a choice
A fork in the road
I can raise my voice in protest
Or surrender and let go

(Bridge)
I look beyond the boundaries of my expectations
There is so much more to life than what it seems
The past is preparation for the future
I release the reigns I've held and let you lead

Oh, that I had wings like a dove;
then I would fly away and rest!

You Shall See Me No More...

These words from Jesus have been on my mind this morning:

...for I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, "Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!" -- Matthew 23:35 (NKJV)

ALL JOY TO YOUR WORLD!

Your Soul's Comfort is Only Found in Me

I brought you to Myself and carried you on eagle’s wings.
-- Exodus 19:4b (NLT)

After reading the soul-comforting message of the Lord in Exodus 19:4, I wrote these words, seemingly from Father God's heart straight to mine:

Why do you weep when the closest of kin
or the dearest of friend leaves you?
Do you ask why?
You don't know why their kinship
or friendship can never satisfy?

When kin or friend deserts you,
it's meant to help you see,
That the deepest comfort of your soul...
Is only found in Me.

Lord, Give Me Your Eyes.

The Lord is teaching me to pray today through Colossians 1:24:

Now I rejoice in what was suffered for you, and I fill up in my flesh what is still lacking in regard to Christ’s afflictions, for the sake of His body, which is the church. (NIV)

But part of my work is to suffer for you; and I am glad, for I am helping to finish up the remainder of Christ’s sufferings for His body, the Church. (TLB)

I pray that the Lord will allow me to enter His agony in my prayer life. Why? I want to see the world He died for from His perspective. He invites you and me to share in the fellowship of His sufferings when we pray. Surely, if we see from His perspective while on our knees, we will walk into the world and make it different.

I don't know about you, but I now pray fervently the words of the contemporary Christian song by Brandon Heath: Lord, give me Your eyes. Amen.
