Day 8 -- Holy Land Finale 11th Journey

What a splendid last day our Hearts Aflame Discipleship Journey proved to be. Here are some of the reasons why:

Our early morning time of devotion happened in Gethsemane.

(If photos do not display properly click individual images.)

Then to the Garden Tomb to celebrate the Only One Who proved to be The Resurrection and The Life -- Jesus!

(Pastor Drew David preached next to the Empty Tomb asking "What will it take for us to believe and to receive Eternal Hope?")

Next we journeyed to and through The Damascus Gate along the Via Dolorosa (The Way of Suffering) to The Church of The Holy Sepulchure -- The traditional site of The Death, Burial and Resurrection of our Lord.

Lunchtime was sandwiches with the new pastor of our Jerusalem Church of The Nazarene, Pastor Shahade. Steve and I met him in Jordan ten years ago and prayed he would be the pastor here one day. Prayers answered. Pastor Shahade shared his testimony and vision. Pray also for his wife Annabelle and their two young children. Humbling.

(Pastor Shahadi from Jerusalem shares.)

Next we went shopping along the Jerusalem market in The Christian Quarter. The Elias Photo Shop, my favorite, proved to be a favorite for others again this trip.

In the mid-afternoon we arrived at The Western Wall, then on to the Southern Steps of the Temple to celebrate the New Testament Pentecost.

(Steve, Drew, Billy and Tucker at The Western Wall.)

(Some of the ladies -- including one baby girl -- placed their bare feet on the ground where Jesus would have entered the Temple. Holy Ground.)

Our final stop was at The Church built over the House of Caiaphas, The high priest. It is the place Peter denied Christ three times. The Church is nicknamed The Rooster Church. We listened to Psalm 88 and remembered the suffering of our God Who Loves us so much that He gave His Son to be our Sacrifice for our sin.

(Our bus driver, Taleb and guide, Nabil are dear to my heart.)

We leave the hotel for the airport at 1 a.m.

Grateful
