For Your Own Good

(12) ...what does the Lord your God require of you? He requires only that you fear the Lord your God, and live in a way that pleases Him, and love Him and serve Him with all your heart and soul. (13) And you must always obey... for your own good.
-- A Portion of Deuteronomy 10:12-13 (NLT)

Develop a sincere fear of God. That is, respect and honor God, God's word and God's ways. Understand that God is the creator. God made us

I've heard it said that "God is God and we are sod." Yes, valuable sod to God, but still sod. :-)

This helped me a lot today! Been thinking about fearing God and all that I don't get in that. Proverbs 14:26-27 has impacted me deeply the past few days..."Those who fear the Lord have a secure fortress, and for their children it will be a refuge. The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, turning a person from the snares of death.". Fear the Lord, and do what he says...if I/we could just grasp that how drastically different would I live. In response to His complete holiness (Holy, Holy, Holy)...how could I choose to live any other way!? Thanks for posting this passage, God is using it in fresh ways for me!

This reminds me of Micah 6:8. Thanks.
