Be Careful. Obey. Listen. Honor the Lord.

(16) ... be careful. Don't let your heart be deceived so that you turn away from the Lord and serve and worship other gods. (17) If you do, the Lord's anger will burn against you...
-- Deuteronomy 11:16-17 (NLT)

You will be blessed if you obey the commands of the Lord...
-- Deuteronomy 11:27 (NLT)

The Lord will be merciful only if you listen and keep all His commands...
Deuteronomy 13:18 (NLT)

... honor the Lord your God. Bring God a voluntary offering in proportion to the blessings you have received from Him.
-- Deuteronomy 16:10 (NLT)

(1) Dear friends, God is good. So I beg you to offer your bodies to Him as a living sacrifice, pure and pleasing. That's the most sensible way to serve God. (2) Don't be like the people of this world, but let God change the way you think. Then you will know how to do everything that is good and pleasing to Him.
-- Romans 12:1-2 (CEV)

Lord, I want to live a careful and prayer life before You. Let my life be a life of worshipping only You, my Lord, in the Beauty of Your Holiness. Amen.

Obedience carries with it the idea of absolute submission resulting from absolute trust. Webster defines obey as meaning “to conform or comply with; to follow the commands or guidance of.”
Honoring, on the other hand, means “showing esteem and respect to a person of superior standing; evidence or symbol of distinction.”
Obey and honoring develops a habit of obedience and a respect for authority in our lives; characteristics that are greatly lacking in our society as a whole.

Lord have mercy on our society as a whole and our souls as individuals. Change the way we think until we have the mind of Christ. In Jesus' name. Amen.
