Psalm 37 has been on my mind for a couple of weeks now. Today, I studied it closely during my quiet time. Could there be immediate directions or inspirational promises for you hidden away in this psalm of David? I think it's worth your time. You can read it below from The New Living Translation of The Holy Bible::
(1) Don’t worry about the wicked or envy those who do wrong. (2) For like grass, they soon fade away. Like spring flowers, they soon wither. (3) Trust in the Lord and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper. (4) Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires. (5) Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you. (6) He will make your innocence radiate like the dawn, and the justice of your cause will shine like the noonday sun. (7) Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes. (8) Stop being angry! Turn from your rage! Do not lose your temper— it only leads to harm. (9) For the wicked will be destroyed, but those who trust in the Lord will possess the land. (10) Soon the wicked will disappear. Though you look for them, they will be gone. (11) The lowly will possess the land and will live in peace and prosperity. (12) The wicked plot against the godly; they snarl at them in defiance. (13) But the Lord just laughs, for he sees their day of judgment coming. (14) The wicked draw their swords and string their bows to kill the poor and the oppressed, to slaughter those who do right. (15) But their swords will stab their own hearts, and their bows will be broken. (16) It is better to be godly and have little than to be evil and rich. (17) For the strength of the wicked will be shattered, but the Lord takes care of the godly. (18) Day by day the Lord takes care of the innocent, and they will receive an inheritance that lasts forever. (19) They will not be disgraced in hard times; even in famine they will have more than enough. (20) But the wicked will die. The Lord’s enemies are like flowers in a field— they will disappear like smoke. (21) The wicked borrow and never repay, but the godly are generous givers. (22) Those the Lord blesses will possess the land, but those he curses will die. (23) The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. (24) Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand. (25) Once I was young, and now I am old. Yet I have never seen the godly abandoned or their children begging for bread. (26) The godly always give generous loans to others, and their children are a blessing. (27) Turn from evil and do good, and you will live in the land forever. (28) For the Lord loves justice, and he will never abandon the godly. He will keep them safe forever, but the children of the wicked will die. (29) The godly will possess the land and will live there forever. (30) The godly offer good counsel; they teach right from wrong. (31) They have made God’s law their own, so they will never slip from his path. (32) The wicked wait in ambush for the godly, looking for an excuse to kill them. (33) But the Lord will not let the wicked succeed or let the godly be condemned when they are put on trial. (34) Put your hope in the Lord. Travel steadily along his path.He will honor you by giving you the land. You will see the wicked destroyed. (35) I have seen wicked and ruthless people flourishing like a tree in its native soil. (36) But when I looked again, they were gone! Though I searched for them, I could not find them! (37) Look at those who are honest and good, for a wonderful future awaits those who love peace. (38) But the rebellious will be destroyed; they have no future. (39) The Lord rescues the godly; he is their fortress in times of trouble. (40) The Lord helps them, rescuing them from the wicked. He saves them, and they find shelter in him.
-- Psalm 37:1-40 (NLT)

Be Encouraged! God Cannot Lie!
(15) So Abraham received what God promised because he waited patiently for it. (16) When people take oaths, they base their oaths on someone greater than themselves. Their oaths guarantee what they say and end all arguments. (17) God wouldn’t change His plan. He wanted to make this perfectly clear to those who would receive His promise, so He took an oath. (18) God did this so that we would be encouraged. God cannot lie when He takes an oath or makes a promise. These two things can never be changed. Those of us who have taken refuge in Him hold on to the confidence we have been given. (19) We have this confidence as a sure and strong anchor for our lives. This confidence goes into the holy place behind the curtain (20) where Jesus went before us on our behalf. He has become the chief priest forever in the way Melchizedek was a priest.

Don't Let Me Make A Mess Of Things
Let’s PRAY TOGETHER from Psalm 119:31-38 (TLB):
(31) i cling to YOUR commands and follow them as closely as i can. LORD, don’t let me make a mess of things. (32) If YOU will only help me to want YOUR will, then i will follow YOUR desires even more closely. (33-34) Just tell me what to do and i will do it, LORD. As long as i live i’ll wholeheartedly obey. (35) Make me walk along the right paths, for i know how delightful they really are. (36) Help me to prefer obedience to making money! (37) Turn me away from wanting any other plan than YOURS. Revive my heart toward YOU. (38) Reassure me that YOUR promises are for me, for i trust and revere YOU. Amen!

A Day to Remember Promises of Love
On this day set aside to remember those who promised and made good on their promises to lay their lives down for us, I had the honor of officating a wedding ceremony for a couple. Yes, dear friends of mine, Randy and Tiffany, made promises of love for life to one another. Here are the promises that Randy and Tiffany made (repeated after me) to one another as husband and wife together. And, yes there were tears, good tears at about line nine, as I recall.
I promise to love and treasure you always.
In good times and in times of trouble.
In wealth or in poverty.
I promise to care for you and to cherish you.
Until we are separated by death.
According to God’s design for marriage.
I promise you respect and humility;
I promise you forgiveness and charity;
I promise you integrity and loyalty;
I promise to believe in you and to dream with you;
I promise you my intense devotion;
Always and forever.
Let us remember that God's love never fails and His hope always prevails.
Grateful

Lord...You Keep Your Promises.
Seems like this week I need to know and to trust that God keeps His promises more than ever. This verse solidifies my soul like an anchor in the Solid Rock:
LORD God of Heaven, You are great and fearsome. And You faithfully keep Your promises to everyone who loves You and obeys Your commands. -- Nehemiah 1:5 (CEV)
My Lord, You Are Faithful and I am...

God's Perfect Promise
The promises of God recorded in His Word are so wonderful. I remember my Granny Margery quoting them to me day-after-day from her old King James Version of The Holy Bible. These past few days this one promise has continued to echo nonstop in my mind and keeps lifting my spirit with great expectations as I hope exclusively in Him:
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in Thee. -- Isaiah 26:3 (KJV)
He will keep in perfect peace all those who trust in Him, whose thoughts turn often to the Lord! -- Isaiah 26:3 (TLB)
Lord, You are unafraid of the word "perfect" and I am so glad! Because "perfect peace" is what You promise and what I need. In Jesus' Name, I claim Your "perfect" promise. Amen.

Revival?
2010 is a year of Readying for Revival for me and for the local church I pastor. It's more than a theme, it's like a mandate on my life to invite our people to get ready for a fresh spiritual awakening in and beyond our lives. I must say, as I saturate in 2 Chronicles 7:14, I have vision like I have never before known, yes vision that is overflowing with awesome anticipation and encouraging expectation. In short, I am very humbled, totally grateful, and somewhat speechless as I consider my Lord's promises.
What is your most inspiring definition of Revival?
IF MY PEOPLE... WILL? I WILL! God's Promise in 2 Chron. 7:14.
Grateful

The Keeper of the Planets & Promises!
Blessed Yahweh! His Love is the Wonder of the World.
-- Psalm 31:21 (The Message)
My God, Your Love is the Wonder of Your World and Your Universe, too. Help me to trust You totally, knowing that surely "The Keeper of the Planets" is also, "The Keeper of His Promises!" In the name of Jesus, the One You gave because You so loved the world! Amen.
For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Him. That is why we say "Amen" when we give glory to God through Christ. -- 2 Corinthians 1:20 (NLT)
Third Day sings a favorite worship tune of mine -- God of Wonders :
Lord of all creation, of water, earth, and sky.
The heavens are Your Tabernacle. Glory to the Lord on high.
God of wonders beyond our galaxy. You are Holy, Holy.
The universe declares your Majesty. And You are Holy, Holy.
Lord of Heaven and Earth. Lord of Heaven and Earth.
Early in the morning, I will celebrate the light.
When I stumble in the darkness, I will call Your name by night.
Lord of heaven and earth. Lord of heaven and earth.
Hallelujah to the Lord of heaven and earth.
Holy, Holy, Holy God.
Precious Lord reveal Your love to me.
Father Holy, Lord God Almighty.
The universe declares your majesty.
You are Holy, Holy, Holy, Holy.
Halleujah to the Lord of heaven and earth.
IF MY PEOPLE... WILL? I WILL! God's Promise in 2 Chron. 7:14.
