"In Me..."

Christ in you, the hope of glory...
- Colossians 1:27b (NIV)

The high-point of my day was hearing the song by Casting Crowns based on Colossians 1:27. The sacred tune is titled "In Me". Oh, indeed, I've heard the song many times and the Scripture is one of my life verses, however hearing it today, lifted my soul to a whole new level of resting in my Lord.

These two lines really touched me deeply:

How refreshing to know You don't need me...
How amazing to find You still want me...

Enter The Mystery

Psalm 40, verses 1-4, from the Message Paraphrase is a testimony and an invitation that touches the depths of the soul:

I waited and waited and waited for God.
At last He looked; finally He listened.
He lifted me out of the ditch,
pulled me from deep mud.
He stood me up on a solid rock
to make sure I wouldn’t slip.
He taught me how to sing the latest God-song,
a praise-song to our God.
More and more people are seeing this:
they enter the mystery,
abandoning themselves to God.
Blessed are you who give yourselves over to God,
turn your backs on the world’s "sure thing,"
ignore what the world worships.

We Kneel, He Lifts?

Could it be that a humble kneeling posture on our part might cause our lives to be lifted by God's healing power?

Then if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from Heaven and will forgive their sins and heal their land. -- 2 Chron. 7:14 (NLT)

But those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted. -- Matthew 23:12 (NLT)
