Delivered From the Destructions That Awaited

He sent out His Word and healed them, snatching them from the door of death.
-- Psalm 107:20 (NLT)

Here is Adam's Clarke's commentary on Psalm 107:20:

He spoke: "Be thou clean, be thou whole;" and immediately the disease departed; and thus they were delivered from the destructions that awaited them.

There is Hope and Healing in the Name of Our Lord!

Truly Healed, Truly Saved

O Lord, if You heal me, I will be truly healed;
If You save me, I will be truly saved.
My praises are for You alone!

Snatching Them From The Door of Death

17 Some were fools; they rebelled
and suffered for their sins.
18 They couldn’t stand the thought of food,
and they were knocking on death’s door.
19 “Lord, help!” they cried in their trouble,
and He saved them from their distress.
20 He sent out His word and healed them,
snatching them from the door of death.
21 Let them praise the Lord for His great love
and for the wonderful things He has done for them.
22 Let them offer sacrifices of thanksgiving
and sing joyfully about His glorious acts.

-- Psalm 107:17-22 (NLT)

"Do Not Sin Anymore..."

(1) After this, a Jewish festival took place, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. (2) By the Sheep Gate in Jerusalem there is a pool, called Bethesda in Hebrew, which has five colonnades. (3) Within these lay a multitude of the sick —- blind, lame, and paralyzed —- waiting for the moving of the water, (4) because an angel would go down into the pool from time to time and stir up the water. Then the first one who got in after the water was stirred up recovered from whatever ailment he had. (5) One man was there who had been sick for 38 years. (6) When Jesus saw him lying there and knew he had already been there a long time, He said to him, "Do you want to get well?" (7) "Sir," the sick man answered, "I don't have a man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, but while I'm coming, someone goes down ahead of me." (8) "Get up," Jesus told him, "pick up your bedroll and walk!" (9) Instantly the man got well, picked up his bedroll, and started to walk. Now that day was the Sabbath, (10) so the Jews said to the man who had been healed, "This is the Sabbath! It's illegal for you to pick up your bedroll." (11) He replied, "The man who made me well told me, 'Pick up your bedroll and walk.'" (12) "Who is this man who told you, 'Pick up your bedroll and walk?'" they asked. (13) But the man who was cured did not know who it was, because Jesus had slipped away into the crowd that was there. (14) After this, Jesus found him in the temple complex and said to him, "See, you are well. Do not sin any more, so that something worse doesn't happen to you." (15) The man went and reported to the Jews that it was Jesus who had made him well.

To Truly Believe? A Test of Love.

The real challenge is to allow yourself to be forgiven, to be healed, to be given something. To truly believe "God yearns to wipe away all your guilt and shame and give you a new heart and new spirit" is a test of love. -- Henri Nouwen

(16) God loved the people of this world so much that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who has faith in Him will have eternal life and never really die. (17) God did not send His Son into the world to condemn its people. He sent Him to save them! (18) No one who has faith in God's Son will be condemned. But everyone who doesn't have faith in Him has already been condemned for not having faith in God's only Son. -- John 3:16-18 (CEV)

Stripes on the Candy Cane

When we see the stripes on the Christmas Candy Cane, let us remember:

He was whipped, and we were healed! -- Isaiah 53:5 (NLT)

Lord, by Your stripes we are healed. We are humbled. Amen.

"GOD, I NEED YOU!"

I was in a prayer session with about 70 leaders from our local church this past Monday night. It was the most honest season of corporate honesty before God I remember being immersed in ever. One precious young lady, with deep cries from the depths of her desperate soul, prayed this four-word, heart-wrenching prayer to the top of her voice: "GOD, I NEED YOU! GOD, I NEED YOU!"

Her honest crying immediately gave way to our humble crying. It was indeed 2 Chronicles 7:14 illustrated. I have been echoing that prayer ever since and will surely echo it for many days to come:

"GOD, I NEED YOU! GOD, I NEED YOU!
In the Name of Jesus. Amen and Amen."

Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a (one) righteous person has great power and wonderful results. -- James 5:16 (NLT)

Be Honest. Be Humbled. Be Healed.

Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves... -- 2 Chronicles 7:14a (NLT)

Humility is the consequence of honesty. If we will get honest before God, humility will immediately follow. Let's get honest with God. Let's humble ourselves in His Holy Presence.

IF MY PEOPLE... WILL (HUMBLE THEMSELVES)?
I WILL (HEAL THEM... THEIR LAND)!
