Speak to Me and Through Me

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing Lord to you and encouraging to others. Speak to me and through me, Lord, I pray in Jesus' name. Amen.

As David volunteered to take down the Philistine Giant, Goliath, in the Valley of Elah, King Saul said seven encouraging words to the already inspired shepherd boy from Bethlehem as he departed to decapitate Israel's intimidator:

“And may the Lord be with you!”

I pray that as you face giants today and tomorrow, you will hear that seven-word sentence of encouragement deep within your own soul, too:

“And may the Lord be with you!”

And The battle belongs to the Lord!

The Cost of Encouraging Others

I have learned that the cost of encouraging others is the raw reality of being chased by discouragement shortly thereafter, yes, usually the next morning. Still, I embrace with my whole being the gift that God has entrusted to me, yes the gift of encouraging others on His behalf.

Lord, cause Your Joy to be my strength as I encourage others and when discouragement comes chasing after me, may it only serve to run me further into Your refreshing presence. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

He Cries When You Cry

John 11:32-35 (NLT) -- (32) Then, when Mary came where Jesus was, and saw Him, she fell down at His feet, saying to Him, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.” (33) Therefore, when Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who came with her weeping, He groaned in the spirit and was troubled. (34) And He said, “Where have you laid him?” They said to Him, “Lord, come and see.” (35) Jesus wept. (36) Then the Jews said, “See how He loved him!”

I remind you of a song written by a Gospel piano man named Mr. Ross. The encouraging words are engraved in my mind. I pray you will be blessed by them as well:

Just remember Jesus cares. He cries when you cry.
And He pleads your case, to the Father up on high.
Place your trust in Him today. For there is no other Way.
And remember Jesus cares. Just remember Jesus cares.
