Lust is the Unholy Heartbeat of Sin

As a pastor, but mostly as a believer, I can say with all of my heart that I hate Sin and the devil. It pains me to see Sin and the devil destroying holy marriages, precious families, and individual lives.

Lust is especially an ugly thing. Lust is self-centeredness clearly exposed. I have heard it said that "Lust is the rawest form of selfishness." It's true. Lust is the Unholy Heartbeat of Sin. Lust allows the devil to take over the controls of our lives and to lead our eternal souls to Sin's destination -- eternal devastation. Lust will leave us lifeless.

My Dad has told me many times this truth about sin:

Sin will take you further than you ever wanted to go.
Make you pay more than you ever wanted to pay.
Keep you longer than you ever wanted to stay.

I plead with everyone reading this blog today: Please choose love over lust, life over death, Heaven over Hell and The Life-giving LORD over the life-stealing devil. I plead with you to minimize future regrets later on in your life by allowing The Blood of Jesus to cleanse you of all sin, now. Please.

John 10:10 (GWT) -- "A thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy, But I came so that my sheep will have life and so they will have everything they need." -- Jesus

Live in the Light

Recently, during my sacred private time in the secret prayer chamber, I was seeking the Lord's help with The Good Book open in my hands. These twelve words recorded in 1st John inspired me deep within to live always and forever among those who are called The Keepers of the Light:

Nothing will destroy the faith of those who live in the light.
-- 1 John 2:10b (GWT)

What God Is Tired Of

You have abandoned me and turned your back on me,” says the Lord. “Therefore, I will raise my fist to destroy you. I am tired of always giving you another chance.
-- Jeremiah 15:6 (NLT)

I am tired of showing mercy.
-- Jeremiah 15:6 (CEV)

Father God, You gave Your one and only Son to die for us. We want to be made willing to live for You. Please, Holy Spirit, help us to be wholehearted God-worshippers and dye-in-the-wool despisers of sin. Jesus, we want to obey Your words, yes, Your spoken desires, when after defending the woman caught in adultery, in love You said to her, "Go and sin no more." Amen.

(1) Jesus returned to the Mount of Olives, (2) but early the next morning He was back again at the Temple. A crowd soon gathered, and He sat down and taught them. (3) As He was speaking, the teachers of religious law and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in the act of adultery. They put her in front of the crowd. (4) “Teacher,” they said to Jesus, “this woman was caught in the act of adultery. (5) The law of Moses says to stone her. What do You say?” (6) They were trying to trap Him into saying something they could use against Him, but Jesus stooped down and wrote in the dust with His finger. (7) They kept demanding an answer, so He stood up again and said, “All right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone!” (8) Then He stooped down again and wrote in the dust. (9) When the accusers heard this, they slipped away one by one, beginning with the oldest, until only Jesus was left in the middle of the crowd with the woman. (10) Then Jesus stood up again and said to the woman, “Where are your accusers? Didn’t even one of them condemn you?” (11) “No, Lord,” she said. And Jesus said, “Neither do I. Go and sin no more.”

The Son's Light Destroys The Devil's Darkness

The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work. -- 1 John 3:8 (NLT)

John 8 and 1 John 3 tells us that Jesus is the Light of the World, Who came to destroy the devil's works of darkness! That's why God the Father sent His Son to Bethlehem -- to turn the Bright Light on so that the dark deceptions of the devil in our lives could be forever exposed and erased. INDEED, THE SON'S LIGHT DESTROYS THE DEVIL'S DARKNESS!

Who's Your Daddy? God or the Devil?

1 John 3:1-10 (NLT) is direct and powerful. Sounds like John is basically asking Who's Your Daddy? God or the devil?

(1) See how very much our heavenly Father loves us, for He allows us to be called His children, and we really are! But the people who belong to this world don’t know God, so they don’t understand that we are His children. (2) Yes, dear friends, we are already God’s children, and we can’t even imagine what we will be like when Christ returns. But we do know that when He comes we will be like Him, for we will see Him as He really is. (3) And all who believe this will keep themselves pure, just as Christ is pure. (4) Those who sin are opposed to the law of God, for all sin opposes the law of God. (5) And you know that Jesus came to take away our sins, for there is no sin in Him. (6) So if we continue to live in Him, we won’t sin either. But those who keep on sinning have never known him or understood who He is. (7) Dear children, don’t let anyone deceive you about this: When people do what is right, it is because they are righteous, even as Christ is righteous. (8) But when people keep on sinning, it shows they belong to the Devil, who has been sinning since the beginning. But the Son of God came to destroy these works of the Devil. (9) Those who have been born into God’s family do not sin, because God’s life is in them. So they can’t keep on sinning, because they have been born of God. (10) So now we can tell who are children of God and who are children of the Devil. Anyone who does not obey God’s commands and does not love other Christians does not belong to God.

IF MY PEOPLE... WILL? I WILL! God's Promise in 2 Chron. 7:14.
