Take Note, Take Time, God's Greatness

I just looked at my wife, Kim, and said, "Our God is Great!!!"

Today, I encourage you simply but profoundly to take note of how Awesome our Creator God really is! I mean, literally, go out into His Creation and ask Him to show you something marvelous that He has made that you have never noticed closely.

I fear that too often we minimize His greatness by not taking time to recognize how Awesome He really is, and then we double the insult by not Magnifying His Name in the afterglow of that realization.

Is Our God GREAT, or WHAT!?

"YES!" We Are The Light Of The World!

This morning in our worship services for the glory of Almighty God, I spoke from Isaiah 6:1-8. You know the passage? The passage where the prophet Isaiah saw and heard and said?
(1) ... saw Almighty God in His Greatness! Terrified.
(2) ... heard Almighty God in His Holiness! Purified.
(3) ... said "YES!" to Almighty God and His Call! Qualified.

It's true, God doesn't always call the qualified, but He always qualifies the called.

In verse Isaiah 6:8, we hear Isaiah's loud "YES!" to God's Call:
Here I am, Lord. Send me.!"

Our closing song of response was a Kari Jobe song simply titled "We Are." The lyrics are so lovely, and make the perfect response for those of us who will say "YES!" to be His witnesses of light in this too dark world.

Here's the song. Sing it in full surrender to the LORD Who still calls out: Who will go for us? Whom shall we send?

Let Your Thoughts Be My Thoughts...

Lord, I pray for this day of opportunity before me, (and for every day after this day) that the thoughts I think will be one-in-the-same with Your thoughts. Please let the mind of Christ be always working within me. In Jesus' name. Amen.

1 Corinthians 2:16 (NLT) -- "Who can know what the Lord is thinking? Who can give Him counsel?" But we can understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ."

Ephesians 6:17 (NLT) -- Put on salvation as your helmet...

Psalm 19:14 (NLT) -- May the words of my mouth and the thoughts of my heart be pleasing to You, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer.

Psalm 139:17 (NKJV) -- How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them!

Jesus prayed these words to the Father in John 17 (MSG): The goal is for all of them to become one heart and mind — Just as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, so they might be one heart and mind with Us.

ALL JOY!

Reminders of God's Greatness & Presence

Do certain things remind you of God's greatness and presence in your life?

It just happened for me on my front porch. As I was reading and reflecting on God's greatness and presence, a hummingbird joined me on the front porch. The little, sophisticated yet delicate, winged-creation of my God flew in and reminded me that the same God whose greatness and presence engineered "the hummingbird" is engineering the circumstances of my life today and day-by-day. What an encouragement to my soul. Pure inspiration.

Lord, my name is Grateful and your name is Faithful. Thanks for the gentle and perfect reminder of your greatness and presence in my life today. I know You are great. You exist. Yes You live in me. I also know that You are good. You care. Yes you love me. (Refer to Hebrews 11:6)

ALL JOY... on the wings of hummingbirds... :-)
