"Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without Holiness no one will see the Lord." Hebrews 12:14 NIV
Peace, my friends, is something we all want, and might i add, Holiness, is something we all need.
It’s true that without Holiness none of us will see God ultimately, and i have come to know that without Holiness no one will see God in us immediately or even eventually.
There are many reasons we need holiness, but one is to cleanse our attitudes, our dispositions, of carnality -- that residue of Sin that each of us inherited from the Fall of Adam and Eve at the beginning, in the Garden of Eden.
Carnality is a biblical word that is not used much anymore, but it still powerfully effects human kind. Carnality is all about living life consumed by satisfying fleshly desires rather than spiritual needs. Carnality feeds self-centeredness, serving the body while starving the soul.
The Good News is this. Jesus in His Atonement accomplished more than enough to forgive our sins, yes those acts and deeds of rebellion against God, and to purify our attitudes and dispositions of Sin’s influence in our lives -- carnality. Jesus put carnality to death -- on our behalf -- on the Cross.
It all happens by surrendering our right to our own lives over to the Lord and believing He is able and willing to save and to sanctify us as His true believers. By faith we can exchange our carnal minds for the Holy Mind of Christ.
"God made Him [Jesus] who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God. 2 Corinthians 5:21 NIV
Has Heaven’s melody -- Holiness -- come yet to ring in our hearts or does Sin’s carnality still reign?
Hope Happens HERE!
