My Prayer Today from Scripture

As my coonhound, Lucy, and i took our prayer walk this morning, i must’ve prayed a prayer from Scripture nearly fifty times aloud: Luke 23:42 [NIV] "Jesus, remember me when you come into Your Kingdom."

This of course is the prayer the dying criminal next to Jesus prayed as they were both being crucified outside Jerusalem. It is one of the most tender and beautiful prayers in the whole Bible to me personally.

i try to imagine the lights coming on in the mind of this condemned man as he watched the Savior of the world dying beside him. Surely, it seemed all hope was gone for his soul but then he realized destiny had placed him next to the King of kings and Lord of lords, yes, Jesus Himself.

i truly love this prayer and will continue to pray it often. It offers blessed assurance to my soul.

This song came to mind as i was considering today’s blog post:
