Why Jesus Was Wounded And Punished

(4) He certainly has taken upon Himself our suffering and carried our sorrows, but we thought that God had wounded Him, beat Him, and punished Him. (5) He was wounded for our rebellious acts. He was crushed for our sins. He was punished so that we could have peace, and we received healing from His wounds.
-- Isaiah 53:4-5 (GWT)

Let us turn from all rebellion and embrace Him with awe.

Jesus suffered and died for a reason...to uphold God's moral
sovereignty and to make real forgiveness possible,
that we might know salvation. This is truly good news.
We can know real forgiveness! Without question, due to our
sinfulness, we deserve punishment -but are forgiven,
because of the faithful suffering of Our Lord.
