Many of the Holy Scriptures are hard for us as believers to understand on our own. We surely need the mind of Christ to triumphantly trust in "what saith the Lord". Perhaps one of the seemingly most difficult Scriptures for believers to decipher is 1 Corinthians 10:13. Here it is from God's Word Translation of the Holy Bible:
There isn’t any temptation that you have experienced which is unusual for humans. God, who faithfully keeps his promises, will not allow you to be tempted beyond your power to resist. But when you are tempted, he will also give you the ability to endure the temptation as your way of escape.
As I have sought the mind of Christ in relation to this Scripture, I have come to believe that the way to understand this verse victoriously is to realize that God "will not allow us to be tempted beyond what His power can resist within us."
So, what am I saying exactly? I am saying that the answer to our confusion with 1 Corinthians 10:13 is found in another verse of Scripture -- Colossians 1:27: Christ in you (us), the Hope!!!
Let us never forget that, In our temptation, God's Power is Within Us!

Our Interference Hinders God
It
seems so unsafe to just sit still, and do nothing but trust the Lord; and the
temptation to take the battle into our own hands is often tremendous.
We
all know how impossible it is to rescue a drowning man who tries to help his
rescuer, and it is equally impossible for the Lord to fight our battles for us
when we insist upon trying to fight them ourselves. it is not that He will not,
but He cannot. Our interference hinders His working.

Tempted to Fall? Endure!
There isn’t any temptation that you have experienced
which is unusual for humans. God, who faithfully keeps His promises, will not

When we are tempted to fall, Jesus wants to be our Endurance to keep standing. To "endure temptation" for me, means Jesus is walking in me and talking me through every temptation! - kw

Weary Prisoners of Sin? Yield Now to Jesus!
If I am a slave to myself (my disposition of sin, my right to myself), I am to blame because at a point a way back I yielded to myself. If I obey God I do so because I have yielded myself to Him. Yielding to Jesus will break every form of slavery in human life.

All who are weary prisoners of sin are invited to yield now to Jesus! Listen to the wonderful words of Jesus recorded in Matthew 11:28, yes, hear Him calling out to all who are burdened and in bondage: Come to Me, and I will give you rest!
Lord, help us to yield only to You, because whatever and whoever we yield to takes control of our lives. We want to be controlled only by Your holy, perfect love never by human, perverted lusts. Teach us to yield to You, embracing sanctification, lest we yield to sin when in temptation. Let us not become prisoners of anything except Your holy, perfect love. In Your Matchless Name, we pray. Amen.
Don’t you know that if you offer to be someone’s slave, you must obey that master? Either your master is sin, or your master is obedience. Letting sin be your master leads to death. Letting obedience be your master leads to God’s approval.

Beware the Barrenness of Being Too Busy
Beware the barrenness of a busy life. If the devil cannot get us to yield to temptation, he will just try to keep us too busy, because the end results will be the same -- soul destruction.
Isaiah 30:15-18 (NLT) warns us about running ahead of of God with our too busy lives:
(15) The Sovereign LORD, the Holy One of Israel, says, "Only in returning to me and waiting for me will you be saved. In quietness and confidence is your strength. But you would have none of it. (16) You said, ‘No, we will get our help from Egypt. They will give us swift horses for riding into battle.’ But the only swiftness you are going to see is the swiftness of your enemies chasing you! (17) One of them will chase a thousand of you. Five of them will make all of you flee. You will be left like a lonely flagpole on a distant mountaintop." (18) But the LORD still waits for you to come to him so he can show you his love and compassion. For the LORD is a faithful God. Blessed are those who wait for him to help them.
The words from this Larnelle Harris song, Strength From the Lord, invite us to an Holy-Balanced Life:
Sometimes life seems like words and music,

Lord, Teach Your Disciples to Pray...
Here's the prayer the Lord taught His disciples to pray. So, it must be called "The Disciple's Prayer?" Let's pray it together to our Father God as fully devoted disciples:
Our Father, Who Art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.

FAITH LIFT -- A Praying Lab
I offer this F-A-I-T-H LIFT acrostic as a prayer laboratory:
F- FAITH
Pray believing that God lives and God loves. (Heb. 11:6 paraphrased) Unless we pray believing God is able to help us and God wants to help us, we pray in vain. Let us not forget that the most basic Biblical purpose of prayer is that we might Know God.
A-ADORATION
Pray as a true worshipper. "Oh come let us adore Him." Remember the words of Wise Men in Matthew 2:1 (MSG): "We are on pilgrimage to worship Him." Pray that your life will magnify, glorify, and satisfy God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit... One.
I-INTERCESSION
God is looking for those who will stand in the gap between Heaven and earth in intercessory prayer. To pray is to intercede, to invoke the name of Jesus not only for yourself but also for others. When you pray with others in mind, you prove that you love God, you love others, and you love yourself.
T-TRUTH
Pray the Word of God, so that God's will is always the focal point of your praying. The words of the Psalmist are powerful prayers for us to echo back to our God. In my life, it is impossible not to be encouraged when I pray God's Word back to Him. Read Luke 4:1-14 and listen to Jesus pray the Word of God to overcome temptation and to defeat the devil. God's Word is powerful!
H-HOLINESS
Totally surrender to God in prayer. Nevertheless, not my will, but Thine be done. Your part in holiness is total surrender to God's desires. So, ask God to help you specifically and then trust God completely. Yes, trust God to help you according to His perspective on your life and His compassion for your life.
Finally, remember that prayer is both simple and profound, in that, if you are presently in the midst of a trust crisis, simply pray. If you are currently in the fog of a prayer crisis, profoundly trust.
