An Obvious Prayer Outline from Psalm 79

This morning I led our Dawn Patrol Men's Prayer Time with an outline of prayer that has been speaking deeply to my own heart. The outline comes from Psalm 79, verse 8b and verse 9:

(8b) Reach out to us soon with Your compassion, because we are helpless. (9) Help us, O God, our Savior, for the glory of Your name. Rescue us, and forgive our sins for the honor of Your name.

Here's the obvious prayer outline the Psalmist modeled for us:
(1) Reach out to us soon...
(2) Help us because we are helpless.
(3) Rescue us for the glory of Your name.
(4) Forgive us for the honor of Your name.

We pray all of this, in the Name of Jesus! Amen!

Turn To Me Before You Are In Trouble

Lord, help us to turn to You everyday all-the-time. Yes, not just when the days grow dim, but also during the days of delight give us a desire to look to You. Give us a hunger to know You intimately in every instance, not just when we are in trouble. In the Name of Jesus. Amen.
