Our emotional lives move up and down constantly. Sometimes we experience great mood swings: from excitement to depression, from joy to sorrow, from inner harmony to inner chaos. A little event, a word from someone, a disappointment in work, many things can trigger such mood swings. Mostly we have little control over these changes. It seems that they happen to us rather than being created by us. Thus it is important to know that our emotional life is not the same as our spiritual life. Our spiritual life is the life of the Spirit of God within us. As we feel our emotions shift we must connect our spirits with the Spirit of God and remind ourselves that what we feel is not who we are. We are and remain, whatever our moods, God's beloved children.

As God's beloved children, let's live by faith in Him,
...not by our own feelings or every whim.

You Felt... You... Were In Control?
(10) You hid behind evil like a shield and said, "No one can see me!" You were fooled by your wisdom and your knowledge; you felt sure that you alone were in full control.

Faith Not Feelings!
One of my favorite songs comes straight from Scripture and was sung by the late Rich Mullins -- The Just Shall Live By Faith.
Dr. James Dobson wrote a book several years back titled, Emotions? Can You Trust Them? He went on to say that he wrote the whole book to say just one thing -- No!
Lord, help us to live our lives by faith, not by feelings. In Jesus' name. Amen.
IF MY PEOPLE... WILL? I WILL! God's Promise in 2 Chron. 7:14.
