In the Slow or in The Flow

My summer has a little busy with mostly wonderful experiences so far, however, I am learning to be content whether I am in the slow or in the flow of my Loving Lord's presence.

Lord, help me to be content with Your, trustworthy, nail-scared hand on the throttle of my life. I sense You pulling back the throttle of my life's speed to a slower pace and it is all good. Yes, indeed! Amen.

To Keep Me From Becoming Conceited

(7) So to keep me from becoming conceited because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, a thorn was given me in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to harass me, to keep me from becoming conceited. (8) Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. (9) But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. (10) For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

For His Name's Sake

In the shepherd's fields and folds surrounding Bethlehem, one learns that the undeniable character of the shepherd is known by the overall condition of his individual sheep. If the flock is well-fed and content then the shepherd is known as a good shepherd. If the flock is hungry and harrassed the shepherd is known as a bad shepherd.

The shepherd-boy who would be king, yes the Psalmist, David, wrote these words to define the character of his Lord, yes his Shepherd: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake.

Today when we pray, let us ask our Shepherd to please continue to prove Himself "Good" not only for the good of His sheep, but most of all for the good of His own name, yes for His name's sake.
