Do What You Must Do, To Make Me Like You.

It’s the same way with the Son of Man. He didn’t come so that others could serve Him. He came to serve and to give His life as a ransom for many people.
-- Matthew 20:28 (GWT)

To make me like You, Lord. Make me like You.

Free Indeed: A Place in The Family

John 8:34-36 (NIV) -- (34) Jesus replied, "I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. (35) Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. (36) So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed."

Lord, thanks for the price You paid to give me a permanent place in Your Family. Yes, thanks for shedding Your innocent blood, not to give me freedom to sin, but to give me freedom from sin. I owe my life, my all to You, my Jesus, The Elder Brother of The Family. Amen.

True Redemption, Great Loss

Because He gave His One and Only Son to be crucified as the Paid-In-Full Sacrifice for our sin penalty, God the Father made it undeniably obvious that true redemption can only be found after great loss. Yes, The Son of God endured the most hellish pain and punishment known on earth to offer to us holy and heavenly gain for all eternity. Such Loss! Such Love!

2 Corinthians 5:21 (TLB) -- For God took the sinless Christ and poured into Him our sins. Then, in exchange, He poured God’s goodness into us!

obeDiEnce

Do you see the two, simple-but-profound, one-syllable words at the very heart of obeDiEnce? "i DiE!"

If I am to become the perfect will of God, that is, wholly obedient to His Holy Desires, my will must become one in crucifixion with the will of Jesus. I must personally echo His Gethsemane prayer of total surrender to the Father: Nevertheless, not my will, but thine be done.

Galatians 2:20 (NKJV) -- I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

1 Samuel 15:22 (NKJV) -- ...Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice...

Lord, I want to be wholly obedient to Your Holy Desires! Help me to know that obeying You is an overflowing joy, not an overwhelming job. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

IF MY PEOPLE... WILL? I WILL! God's Promise in 2 Chron. 7:14.

Yes! The Son of God in the Old Testament!

Did you know that the Good News of God having a Beloved Son is not just unfolded in the New Testament, but it is also enfolded in the Old Testament? Here are two obvious Old Testament references revealing the Reality of God's Son:

Psalm 2:12 (NIV) -- Kiss the Son, lest He (the LORD) be angry and you be destroyed in your way, for His wrath can flare up in a moment. Blessed are all who take refuge in Him.

Proverbs 30:4 (NIV) -- Who has gone up to Heaven and come down? Who has gathered up the wind in the hollow of his hands? Who has wrapped up the waters in his cloak? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is His name, and the name of His Son? Tell me if you know!

I TESTIFY! HIS NAME IS GOD! AND WHAT'S HIS SON'S NAME? JESUS!

Want some homework? See if you can find The Son of God in the Old Testament Book of Daniel, chapter 3? :-)

ALL JOY!
