Note to Self

Dearest Most Precious Child of Almighty Abba Father:

Do not be afraid. Do not be dismayed.

Never forget that your Abba Father always hears your cries, and He cares for you. He comes running towards you even now with complete compassion to really rescue you from all your fears.

He has established His dwelling place within your existence. His Love is finding perfection in your never-dying soul.

The Holy Spirit of the Living God, yes the same Holy Spirit of Truth promised by Jesus is here now to Live in You as you live also in Him.

Fear not. Be Glad. Your Hope is in The Lord.

And always be...

Feeling Kind of Lost?

Sometimes when God wants some alone-time with us, it often begins with us feeling kind of lost. It's a good kind of lost -- lost in wonder, love, and praise. Peace, indeed.

Does God miss His time with you... with me?

Let's be still and spend time alone with Jesus.

We Can Choose Joy... Or Not?

Strange as it may sound, we can choose joy. Two people can be part of the same event, but one may choose to live it quite differently than the other. One may choose to trust that what happened, painful as it may be, holds a promise. The other may choose despair and be destroyed by it.
-- Henri Nouwen

2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.
-- James 1:2-4 (NKJV)

Grace! A Grinning Thief in Heaven!

My friend, Keith, shared this wonderful excerpt with me recently from a Max Lucado book titled "No Wonder We Call Him (Jesus) Savior":

It makes me smile to think there’s a grinning thief walking the golden streets of heaven who knows more about grace than a thousand theologians. No one else would have given the thief on the cross a prayer. But in the end that is all he had. And in the end, that is all it took! No wonder they call Jesus the Savior.

(42) Then he (one of the thieves/criminals on the cross beside Jesus) said to Jesus, “Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.” (43) And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.” -- Luke 23:42-43 (KJV)

Whose Are You?

Finally, my dear friends, be glad that you belong to the Lord.

I Miss My Time With You

Larnelle Harris sings a soul-searching song titled "I Miss My Time With You". The song is written as if God is speaking to you and to me directly.

Here's the song:

Let us beware the empty barreness and the eventual brokenness produced by living a too-busy-to-take-time-with-God life. If we don't take time today with God, time will take us away from God. Remember, if the enemy cannot get us to commit outright sin, he will just keep us downright busy. The end results will be the same -- eternal separation from God.

Holiness Unto The LORD!

I Can Be Glad Today. I Can Be Thankful.

(24) This day belongs to the LORD! Let's celebrate and be glad today. (28) The LORD is my God! I will praise Him and tell Him how thankful I am. (29) Tell the LORD how thankful you are, because He is kind and always merciful.
-- Psalm 118:24, 28, 29 (CEV)

Were It Not For Grace!

I know I have posted these lyrics before, however, this song of gratitude sung by Larnelle Harris is on my mind often and especially now. I love repeating the good stuff.

"Were it Not for Grace"

Time measured out my days
Life carried me along
In my soul I yearned to follow God
But knew I’d never be so strong
I looked hard at this world
To learn how Heaven could be gained
Just to end where I began
Where human effort is all in vain

Chorus
Were it not for grace
I can tell you where I’d be
Wandering down some pointless road to nowhere
With my salvation up to me
I know how that would go
The battles I would face
Forever running but losing this race
Were it not for grace

So here is all my praise
Expressed with all my heart
Offered to the Friend who took my place
And ran a course I could not start
And when He saw in full
Just how much His would cost
He still went the final mile between me and Heaven
So I would not be lost

Repeat Chorus

Forever running but losing this race
Were it not for grace

Lord, remind us that while Your grace is indeed covering for sins, Your grace is also power over sinning. Cure? For sure! But also prevention! Amazing grace, indeed! In Jesus' name. Amen.

There but for the grace of God, go I... -- (Author Uncertain)

Were It Not For Grace

The words of this Larnelle Harris song touch me deeply:

Were It Not For Grace

Time measured out my days
Life carried me along
In my soul I yearned to follow God
But knew I'd never be so strong
I looked hard at this world
To learn how heaven could be gained
Just to end where I began
Where human effort is all in vain

Chorus
Were it not for grace
I can tell you where I'd be
Wandering down some pointless road to nowhere
With my salvation up to me
I know how that would go
The battles I would face
Forever running but losing this race
Were it not for grace

So here is all my praise
Expressed with all my heart
Offered to the Friend who took my place
And ran a course I could not start
And when He saw in full
Just how much His would cost
He still went the final mile between me and heaven
So I would not be lost

Repeat Chorus

Forever running but losing this race
Were it not for grace

ALL JOY TO YOUR WORLD!
