In John 17, Jesus points out as He prays to the Father, that those who belong to Him may be in the world but they are not of the world, anymore than He is.
Recently, i heard a spiritual mentor of mine, Lindell Browning, a lifelong missionary to the Middle East say: “When we are too much like the world, we have much less to offer them.”
