i read this passage today and it really penetrated my mind marvelously. i first read it in an older translation and then in a newer one. Maybe it will also marvel your mind in some way:
"Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you."
2 Corinthians 13:11 [KJV]
"Finally, beloved friends, be cheerful! Repair whatever is broken among you, as your hearts are being knit together in perfect unity. Live continually in peace, and God, the source of love and peace, will mingle with you."
2 Corinthians 13:11 [TPT]
Some Jesus-believers have a problem with these two words: "Be perfect." It’s likely because we don’t really understand that Paul isn’t calling for absolute human perfection but for relative holy perfection. That is, "Be wholly one in the Holy Spirit." He is calling for Unity, even commanding Unity among those of us who claim the Name of Christ.
Will we be found "In ‘Perfect’ Unity?" If we will fully surrender, His Unity will be ours by faith. So be it, in The Name of Jesus!
Seems like a replay of my favorite Unity song would be good to close with today:
Hope Happens HERE!
Presence Matters Most!
No Invisible People! UNITY!
