Loud Cries And Tears...

Hebrews 5:7 (NRSV) really spoke to me in the early morning hours today:

Jesus offered up prayers and supplications with loud cries and tears to The One Who was able... and He was heard because of His reverent submission.

IF MY PEOPLE... WILL? I WILL! God's Promise in 2 Chron. 7:14.

That verse brought tears to my eyes.

It also brought to mind Jeremiah 33:3,
Call to Me and I will answer you. . .

Calling, crying, in desperation, from our hearts-

Blessings to you and your family,
Terri

We know it was not so much a distressed wailing as it was a conscious, and somewhat frightful, awareness of the agony that was upon Him, and which His humanity longed to avoid, but which His deity knew was necessary to the eternal purpose of the Father. Thus, as a man under submission to a fearful fate, Jesus wept.
Jesus was crying out powerfully for divine intervention; it was a cry for deliverance.

I'm glad He wanted what the Father wanted for us -- salvation and sanctification. Humbled. Grateful. Speechless.
