Sunday night a musical brother in our local church planned a benefit sing for my parents, Capt. Bill and Lady Melba. It was two hours of pure inspiration. I am grateful to Brother Harold Arbogast and his Bluegrass singing group called Heartland. Also, other singers took part including Dave Napier, The Stoner Family, Brenda Straits and a Southern Gospel group known as Southern Grace.
A love offering was received to assist my parents with expenses due to Dad's recent unemployment in the wake of his cancer season. Approximately $5,000 was given. It was a night of celebration as Dad's latest cancer results came back as "ALL CLEAR".
We are so humbled and grateful to God and to God's people.
The final song sung tonight was by Southern Grace and is a favorite of my parents. Here's a recording of the tune:
