Holiness and/or Christian perfection is not about an absolute perfection but about a relative perfection and has to do with us becoming/fulfilling all the Creator intended/desires us to be.
Example: A watch that keeps perfect time is "perfect" in this sense; it fulfills what the watchmaker had in mind when it was designed -- it keeps perfect time.
"But you are to be perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect." Words of Jesus, Matthew 5:48 NLT
"But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy. For the Scriptures say, "You must be holy because I am holy." 1 Peter 1:15-16 NLT
Do we desire to perfectly fulfill/to be all our Creator God had/has in mind for us? To be holy? To love the Lord our God with all of our heart, mind, soul, and strength and to love others as we love ourselves?
“For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases Him.” Philippians 2:13 NLT
Deo Volente. As God wills.
