A pastor/friend who knows that my new life-word is “Maranatha”, found and sent me another Maranatha song — a foot-stomping version that brings us a to full attention with present and future anticipation...
“If we pray with our eyes open — physically and figuratively — our time with God is limitless. O that we would learn to pray with greater awareness of God’s presence, power and His work in the world. May our awareness of God’s will and desires open us up to pray with greater passion and clarity.” — Sherry Harney
Lord, make my prayer life richer and more powerful in the coming New Year. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
I have often noticed how live spelled backwards is evil. And this verse — 1 Thessalonians 5:22 — should truly matter to those of us who claim to live in Christ. Don’t ya think so?
Christmastime is a season when Hope is huge. I will preach twice today, the messages will be shorter than usual but sometimes dynamite comes in small packages. The message of Christmas is short but O my, it’s powerful. Here it is in a few verses:
For the first time I got to personally experience Williamsburg, Virginia’s Christmas Town this year. I think the pictures will say more than my words ever could. It was so inspiring.
My brother, BJ, knowing how I love playing drums, told me about this powerful Christmas performance by King and Country — five drummers playing simultaneously “The Little Drummer Boy” Classic Holy Day Song...
My dear brother in the Lord, Earl Clark, taught me a simple, yet profound and powerful prayer a few years ago and in the Christmas card he and his dear wife, Agnes, sent us this year, he included his prayer — in his own handwriting — as a reminder to me. Priceless!!!
And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"

Sunday, May 31, 2009, was Pentecost Sunday and a highlight in my life and ministry as 191 in our local church were spontaneously baptized -- some emmersed, some poured, all humbled! Hallelujah!
