Subtly But Surely, Spiritual Slippage

It was during my morning prayer time as a local pastor back in 2013, yes, about twelve years ago, that i remember my heart was mightily moved as i had been crying out to Jesus for a spiritual awakening in our world. It seemed from my perspective that even some of those who claimed to be believers in Jesus were subtly but surely joining the ranks of the unrighteous. There seemed to be a fog even among the faithful and the enemy seemed to be inching his way into the body of Christ. i sensed that spiritual slippage was undeniably underway.

This troubling verse of Holy Scripture came to mind: “The Spirit says clearly that in later times some believers will desert the Christian faith. They will follow spirits that deceive, and they will believe the teachings of demons.” — 1 Timothy 4:1 (GWT)

Let us plead the Blood of Jesus for renewal in our own lives, praying that personal revival within our own lives will lead to public revival among the masses and that Jesus will be lifted high once again among us and beyond us, yes, even throughout the whole world like never before.

As some church folk are debating whether or not "sin" is acceptable in the lives of people who claim a personal relationship with Holy God, honestly, my own soul has moved far beyond being extremely mad to being totally sad. i am sad for Jesus. My heart is broken for the One called "The Beautiful One" as some of those who claim to love Him refuse to call sin, sin. Have we too quickly forgotten that sin is what stapled our Savior to the Cross? Not saying we have forgotten, nevertheless, God forgive us and God forbid it, if we have forgotten? Let us return swiftly to our first love for lost souls and for the Loving Savior.

In 1 John 3:8, we discover that "The Son of Man (Jesus) came to destroy the works of the devil." Why shouldn't i be sad when i see even some who wear the name of Christ seemingly attempting to preserve the works of the devil?

Indeed, i still have a question strong on my mind that my executive assistant, Angela, once posted on her church office door: "Have we prayed about it as much as we have talked about it?"

Let’s start praying anew even now for any and all spiritual slippage in our lives to be corrected and let’s intercede for an awakening before it’s too late. Then we will have something praiseworthy to talk about. Yes, even in these last days. So be it. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Holiness Unto the LORD!

Maranatha! Amen! Come, Lord Jesus!

Signs of Awakening

On my prayer walk yesterday morning, i rewound this passage on the audio Bible App probably a dozen times. Seems the Lord was saying, "Some today, deny the signs that point to the probability that an awakening is underway."

"Jesus answered them, 'Sometimes the sky is red in the evening. Then you say, "Tomorrow the weather will be good." Sometimes in the morning the sky is red and there are dark clouds. Then you say, "Today there will be a storm." So you look at the sky and you know what the weather will be. But special things are happening now and you do not understand what they mean." Matthew 16:2-3 EASY

Prayer Hymn by James Montgomery, Scotland

1Prayer is the soul's sincere desire,

unuttered or expressed,

the motion of a hidden fire

that trembles in the breast.

2 Prayer is the burden of a sigh,

the falling of a tear,

the upward glancing of an eye,

when none but God is near.

3 Prayer is the simplest form of speech

that infant lips can try;

prayer the sublimest strains that reach

the Majesty on high.

4 Prayer is the contrite sinners' voice,

returning from their way,

while angels in their songs rejoice

and cry, "Behold, they pray!"

5 Prayer is the Christians' vital breath,

the Christians' native air;

their watchword at the gates of death;

they enter heav'n with prayer.

6 O Thou, by whom we come to God,

the Life, the Truth, the Way;

 the path of prayer Thyself hast trod:

Lord, teach us how to pray!

God’s Habitation

"For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God; and are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; in whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: in whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit." Ephesians‬ ‭2‬:‭18‬-‭22‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Each Us is But a Breath

““Lord, remind me how brief my time on earth will be. Remind me that my days are numbered— how fleeting my life is. You have made my life no longer than the width of my hand. My entire lifetime is just a moment to You; at best, each of us is but a breath.” Interlude. We are merely moving shadows, and all our busy rushing ends in nothing. We heap up wealth, not knowing who will spend it. And so, Lord, where do I put my hope? My only hope is in You.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭39‬:‭4‬-‭7‬ ‭NLT‬
