My friend, Pastor Jonathan Merki, recently shared this passage of scripture from Job during our district Four Winds Prayer Zoom. Without a doubt it points to my Witness, Advocate, Intercessor and Friend — Jesus is His name!
“Even now my Witness is in Heaven; my Advocate is on high. My Intercessor is my Friend as my eyes pour out tears to God; on behalf of a man He pleads with God as One pleads for a friend.” Job 16:19-21 [NIV]

This is my latest Four Winds Forecast YouTube Link recorded and sent today to our Philadelphia District Church of the Nazarene family of faith, hope, and love, and offered for viewing for anyone, especially those interested in praying in partnership with and for us that the Nazarene, yes, Jesus of Nazareth alone, might be magnified, glorified and satisfied.
About 19-minutes...

“[You said to me] ‘Who is this that darkens and obscures counsel [by words] without knowledge?’ Therefore [I now see] I have [rashly] uttered that which I did not understand, Things too wonderful for me, which I did not know.” Job 42:3 AMP
“Job realized ... the only key to life is not a statement of faith in God, not an intellectual conception of God, but a personal relationship to Him.” Oswald Chambers

i often quote these reassuring words of Jesus: "My sheep know My voice." And it seems lately i can hear Jesus saying: "And I, The Good Shepherd, know the voice of My sheep, too."

Psalm 84:10 is a life-verse of mine. Recently, i read it in The Passion Translation and it inspired me even more than ever.
Read and pray it with me to God now:
"For just one day of intimacy with You is like a thousand days of joy rolled into one! I’d rather stand at the threshold in front of the Gate Beautiful, ready to go in and worship my God, than to live my life without You in the most beautiful palace of the wicked." Psalms 84:10 TPT

It’s no secret that the words of Oswald Chambers have helped to disciple me now for nearly thirty years. This week these quotes of his have spoken so deeply to my heart, mind, soul and strength.
“Be careful that you do not upset God’s plans by bringing in your own ideas.”
“Never limit God with paralyzing thoughts caused by unbelief.”
“Not how much we give, but what we do not give, is the test of our Christianity.”

These wise words from God’s Word speak so strongly to my own life. i definitely embrace God’s Words as i deeply pray them...
“Rejoice with those who rejoice [sharing others’ joy], and weep with those who weep [sharing others’ grief]. Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty [conceited, self-important, exclusive], but associate with humble people [those with a realistic self-view]. Do not overestimate yourself.” Romans 12:15-16 AMP

This Saturday morning before Mother’s Day 2021, as I walk under the live oak family tree in the backyard of my childhood home-place, the morning breezes are invigorating my soul and these words suddenly came to my mind:
"O God, You are my God; with deepest longing I will seek You; My soul [my life, my very self] thirsts for You, my flesh longs and sighs for You, In a dry and weary land where there is no water. So I have gazed upon You in the sanctuary, To see Your power and Your glory. Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, My lips shall praise You. So will I bless You as long as I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name." Psalms 63:1-4 AMP

"Give to everyone who asks of you. Whoever takes away what is yours, do not demand it back. Treat others the same way you want them to treat you. If you [only] love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. If you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. If you lend [money] to those from whom you expect to receive [it back], what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners expecting to receive back the same amount. But love [that is, unselfishly seek the best or higher good for] your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; for your reward will be great (rich, abundant), and you will be sons of the Most High; because He Himself is kind and gracious and good to the ungrateful and the wicked. Be merciful (responsive, compassionate, tender) just as your [heavenly] Father is merciful. "Do not judge [others self-righteously], and you will not be judged; do not condemn [others when you are guilty and unrepentant], and you will not be condemned [for your hypocrisy]; pardon [others when they truly repent and change], and you will be pardoned [when you truly repent and change]. Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure--pressed down, shaken together, and running over [with no space left for more]. For with the standard of measurement you use [when you do good to others], it will be measured to you in return."" Luke 6:30-38 AMP

Recently a friend asked me to define humility from my perspective. It was a good exercise for my own life. These are the immediate answers i gave:
Humility to me is about...
...holy kindness, gentle confidence, tender countenance, living without pretense, having an honest perspective of one’s reality, wholehearted acceptance of your place in the world, showing up to serve not to be served, and focusing on God’s glory not your own.
"Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up." James 4:10 NKJV
My friend Jim Cole’s song comes to mind even now. Enjoy:

Note: i apologize that my “almost-daily” blog has not been posted in 5 days. Was on vacation and needed some time for exhaling. Thanks for your mercy towards me.
Today’s word:
"The great characteristic of Paul’s life was that he realized he was not his own; he had been bought with a price, and he never forgot it. His whole life was based on that one thing. Paul sold himself to Christ – – ‘the bondslave of Jesus.’ For ‘I am determined not to know anything among you, save (except) Jesus Christ, and Him crucified.’" Oswald Chambers
"Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." I Corinthians 6:19-20 NKJV
