A Sacredness in Tears

There is a sacredness in tears. They are not the mark of weakness, but of power. They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues. They are messengers of overwhelming grief...and unspeakable love.
-- Washington Irving

Jesus wept.
-- John 11:35 (KJV)

  1. I think most of society believes that crying is a form of weakness.
We have been conditioned over time that tears are a disgrace, that we should somehow be ashamed because of our tears.
I have learned to allow myself to cry.I am no longer ashamed of my tears. Crying is a part of being human and it's okay.

  3. I'm glad Jesus wept. You can see his heart reflected in the teardrops.

  4. I believe that God uses our tears to wash away all of the pain from the insides of our hearts-so that He can renew us and rebuild us....more in His image....
