Trust in the Lord with all your heart, do not depend on your own understanding. -- Proverbs 3:5 (NLT)
The old hymn says:
Farther along we'll know all about it.
We'll understand it all by-and-by.
The Peasall Sisters sing us into perspective. Dim the lights. Grab a tissue. Be encouraged.

Trust Now! Understand Later!
Grateful
Once we know we are trusting God, we must be conscious not to trust on or in anything else including our own understanding and wisdom. When we do trust in these other things we tend to misinterpret the messages that God is giving us. This makes it easy for us to be deceived into thinking that God is leading us in a direction where we want to go when he is in fact not.

ReplyDeleteHow about this hymn:
ReplyDeleteTrust and obey, for there's no other way, to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.
One of my all-time favorites, Mark.
ReplyDeleteYes. If we wait for understanding, we aren't trusting.
ReplyDeleteBlind faith is not an oxymoron. :-)
